Care Guide

Handmade pieces reward a little care. Here is how to look after each material so it lasts.

Hemp & Cotton

Do

  • Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry flat.
  • Empty pockets and let the bag breathe between uses.
  • Brush off dry dirt before it works into the weave.

Don’t

  • Don't machine wash or tumble dry — it distorts the weave.
  • Don't leave it soaking wet or folded while damp; mildew sets in fast in a closed bag.
  • Don't iron directly on the woven trim.

Walnut Wood

Do

  • Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth after wear.
  • Rub in a few drops of food-safe mineral oil every couple of months if the wood looks dry.
  • Store it away from direct sun when not worn — timber fades unevenly in strong light.

Don’t

  • Don't wear it swimming, showering or in heavy rain.
  • Don't leave it on a hot dashboard or windowsill — timber can warp or crack.
  • Don't use furniture polish or alcohol-based cleaners on it.

Bamboo

Do

  • Hand wash in warm water with a mild detergent, then dry fully before putting the lid back on.
  • Rinse straight after use with anything acidic, like coffee or juice, to stop it staining the lacquer.
  • Store with the lid off so the inside can air out.

Don’t

  • Don't put it in the dishwasher or microwave — heat and detergent break down the lacquer seal.
  • Don't soak it for long periods; standing water can work into the seams over time.
  • Don't scrub it with an abrasive sponge or steel wool.
